Since the release of Drupal 7.0 in January 2011, there have been three more major Drupal versions released. However, it's now time to bid a final farewell to Drupal 7. Starting from January 5, 2025, Drupal 7 will no longer be supported, exposing your website to security risks.
What does this mean for your Drupal 7 website?
- Unsupported modules and themes will no longer receive support from the Drupal Security Team.
- Security updates will no longer be released for the Drupal 7 core and contributed modules.
- Non-critical security issues and vulnerabilities for Drupal 7 may be disclosed without prior notice and could be exploited by hackers.
- PHP 5 or lower versions will no longer be supported.
- Security fixes for Windows-only issues will no longer be released.
- Third-party libraries, such as CKEditor, may no longer be supported.
- Drupal.org will cease to provide support for Drupal 7.
- All Drupal 7-compatible module releases will be marked as 'unsupported.'
- External vulnerability scans will label Drupal 7 as insecure.
