Drupal Association and CrowdSec Team Up for a Safer Open Web

The Drupal Association is partnering with CrowdSec to improve the protection of Drupal websites against automated attacks. This is a significant step forward for anyone who values open source and strong security.

Drupal has always been known for its robust security practices: regular updates, secure modules, and an active community. Yet, websites increasingly face sophisticated bots, brute-force attacks, and spam. This is where CrowdSec comes in.

CrowdSec is an open source security platform that detects unusual behavior — such as suspicious login attempts or abnormal activity — and shares this information across a global network. Thanks to the new integration with Drupal, these signals can now originate directly from the website itself. This allows suspicious patterns to be identified faster, and attacks can be blocked collectively.

An Extra Layer of Security for Our Clients

At Artmania, we use the CrowdSec module by default on our Drupal websites. This means we not only protect our own sites but also contribute to a larger, global security network.

For our clients, this provides clear benefits:

  • Stronger protection against bots, spam, and brute-force attacks
  • Faster detection of suspicious activities
  • Collective intelligence: learning from attacks worldwide
  • Open source transparency: no “black box” security

In short, an additional layer of security that grows with the community — without compromising speed or usability.
